In case it's of interest to anyone, a couple abandonment cases did not pass court today due to no MOWA letter. (On a happier note, at least 5 cases did pass!)
EthioPAP YOU passed today? WOW congratulations:) Please, can You still keep updating this forum few more weeks? This is so valuable for us, who are waiting....
Do you know why someone had the MOWA´s letter and the others didn´t? What might be the difference between these families?
An agency had some of their families pass and some didn't citing no MOWA letters as the reason. I'm not sure why the letters didn't get written for those families, but I know this is a hard day for them...
1:38 PM, can you email me at jewelsavila@yahoo.com? I was curious to know the agency, b/c our director said 9 were being heard today, but they didn't know which ones?
We passed today too! I am interested to hear people's travel dates because our agency is expecting ours to be in the later part of September, which I was surprised at. I guess I was hoping for the end of August still.
Congratulations to everybody that has passed court this week! What an exciting week!
Our original court date was scheduled for June 5, but was obviously delayed due to the ban. We have not yet received our new court date. Is there anybody else in the same boat as us... had a date delayed b/c of the ban and now anxiously awaiting their new date???
This blog was started in May 2009, when a hold was placed on the adoption of children who were found abandoned within the city of Addis. The hold personally affected hundreds of prospective adoptive families world-wide. These families were soon disheartened by the lack of news on the investigation, with some agencies getting and passing on more information than others. This blog was started as a compilation of any and all information we could gather about the investigation into Addis abandonment cases. Since that time, this blog has evolved to include any information pertinent to Ethiopian adoption. I post information that agencies give to their clients, with all sources remaining anonymous. I rely solely on PAPs and APs of the various agencies to share what they are being told. If you have any information from your agency on any aspect of Ethiopian adoption that you'd like to share, please email me at ethioadoption@gmail.com
that s really sad news for these people
