An email:

People from my agency have gotten their new court dates already. It's disappointing because they know they won't pass due to MOWA being closed, but everyone hopes when they are assigned another date it will be before the summer closure.

  1. HUH??? They are giving court dates knowing that MOWA is closed? That is weird. Does the right hand know what the left is doing??

  2. I know someone specifically with a new court date in mid-July. It makes me think the court and MOWA just don't communicate with each other AT ALL.

  5. Tomorrow they will be told to come back friday and friday they will be told....and now with the MOWA closing...this seems to be getting nowhere right now... Ny own agency still says, that the investigation is not over, at they talk to their in-country rep. every day. I really don't know what to expect anymore.

  7. Our US agency said the following this morning: the investigation is officially over and our in-country representative was told on Monday to come back to court today (Wednesday). Our agency also said that they are unsure if the MOWA closure will affect families who had court dates and all of their paperwork prepared by MOWA prior to the closure. We actually had court the day the court's closed, so we were part of the the first families to find out. I hope this helps.

  8. i just received a court date today for next week. our rep is supposed to go back at the end of this week to the judge to find out how the mowa closure is going to affect the court date.

my little one was abandoned in addis ababa.

the ban is over.....court dates are being assigned. bummer that mowa decided to close at this time.

  9. Maybe all the letters for the held-up cases are done and that's why MOWA's doing training now for a couple of weeks because the court is going to be dealing with predominantly these cases.....could it be?

  12. Here's another optimistic theory: Maybe MOWA is not really doing training at all. Maybe they are scurrying to write the letters that are needed just before their court dates.

IF that theory is correct (and I realize that's a big IF) MOWA must believe this whole thing will be over with in about two weeks.
