The agency who posted last week about the investigation being possibly over says today that while it does indeed appear to be over, the ban is still in place. The individual orphanages are responsible for getting the results of the investigation, and not the agency representatives.

  1. So how does that work? How do the individual orphanages get the info? is it ok for them to get it now or do they still need to wait for the big announcement?

  3. Yes it sounds a bit odd...what does the last sentence mean in practice? But I guess we will know something soon then...and hopefully good.

  4. The way I understand it is a decision has been made, but not formally announced yet. Since the investigation was orphanage-focused and not agency-focused, the court is not giving the agencies any information regarding their decision just yet. Apparently the orphanage directors are welcome to seek the information out, but according to this particular agency's in-country rep, they are not willing to do this because they don't want to cause waves or anger the court.

Hopefully a formal announcement will be issued soon!

  5. I wonder if they are talking about the orphanages, where our kids stayed after they had been found or about the so called transit-homes of the agcencies, where our children are staying right now?

  6. I am sure that they are talking about the normal orphanages and not the transit-homes because the orphanages are responsible for our kids, have to do the paperwork etc. They also would have to get new documents if this a request by court which would mean we have to wait much longer.

  7. So does that mean the courts will be hearing the abandonment cases now? I'm still confused but that's nothing new!

  9. As far as I understand it, the courts will not hear any abandonment cases UNTIL there is a formal announcment. And even if there is the formal announcment, the orphanages have to go for the results of the investigation BEFORE new court dates will be given.

  10. That makes sense, so that is why the orphanage director doesnt want to go for the results until the formal annoucment is given.

    Hopefully this is soon.
