A US agency is reporting that the final decision about the abandonment cases is supposed to be issued on July 2, 2009. This was confirmed to their coordinator by the judge today, June 23, 2009. This in-country rep has also heard the rumor that the courts will not close for the summer, but has not received any official word whether it's true.
*Note: This is not from the same agency we've been waiting to hear from concerning the outcome of the meeting, but it's possible that the July 2nd date was what was discussed in today's meeting with the orphanage directors and the court (if they held it).

Please, this information comes from the agency representative of USA which is in Ethiopi
ReplyDeleteI dont get it????? They announced on friday that they had a decision and would have a meeting on monday/tuesday. At this meeting they say they will let us know what they decided last week, next week? hmmmmm,
ReplyDeleteSo did they even have a meeting today? if so, what that the only decision that came out of it? that they would tell us July 2nd? are they trying to see how close they can possibly cut it to court closure just to stress us all out????
ReplyDeleteEveryone,
ReplyDeleteIt was my agency that reported the July 2nd date for an official decision. My agency never reported anything to us about a scheduled meeting for today, so I really don't know what the context of the announcement of this July 2nd date was. All I know is what we were told----that a decision is expected 7/2 and that a judge did confirm this date with our in country rep.
I know it is not what any of us wanted to hear....BUT, I will say that our agency has never provided us with ANY information unless it has been confirmed, and to date, everything they have reported along the way has proven entirely accurate.
Prayers and hugs to everyone,
Mercedes
OK, so next Thursday. I will need to come up with a new obsession until then :)
ReplyDeleteMercedes, thanks for sharing your information to the group. It is valuable and appreciated greatly!
ReplyDeleteHere in Spain this evening and no one has made any announcement about the (suspension trasitoria)-¿custody records?, therefore it is very reasonable that they have the same information as Mercedes and do not communicate because we always do here, after the official publication.
ReplyDeleteYes, the July 2nd being discussed at the meeting is just pure conjecture on my part, it could be an entirely different piece of information. The supposed meeting was for orphanage directors, so perhaps more was discussed which we will hear about tomorrow or later this week.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand either. I don't know why they're putting off making a decision for 9 more days now that the investigation is over (confirmed by 4 agencies).
To me this is good news because our US agency reported to we who are stuck that we would not have a decision regarding when we will get new court dates for 2 more weeks (from Monday, June 22, 2009). So this July 2nd date is 4 days sooner which makes me happy :o) Any little thing makes me happy lately! We've had our referral since Dec 26, 2008.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who works in a govt agency in America, we don't really complete an investigation and issue new rules and regulations the next day. The results of the investigation must be discussed as well as any changes that need to be implemented.
ReplyDeleteNine more days?
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on here?
Maybe in nine days they decide, that we have to wait another nine days, nine weeks, nine months?
I do not believe in anything anymore...
Hang in there....I have been waiting since my referral on March 2008.... a few more day is just that....a few more days.
ReplyDeleteSince march 2008 - howcome??
ReplyDeleteI couldn't imagine doing that...
