Most agencies now seem to be getting court dates for new cases for early October, after the court closure. It appears that the majority of cases who had original court dates during the ban are being heard before the closure. If you're an abandonment case still waiting for a 2nd court date or if you've received one for October, please let us know.

Our original court date was June 5. We are still waiting to be assigned a new date.
ReplyDeleteOur first court date was June 19th.
ReplyDeletesecond was July 9th
trid will be August 10th.
Has some of You needed more than three court dates before passing?
Our original court date was on Apr. 22nd. Referral was Sept. 4th. Still waiting on another court date. I am really hoping all affected cases will be taken care of before closure. Praying for those who still are waiting, yet so thankful things are moving.
ReplyDeleteWhat do your agencies say about not having court dates for you yet? I don't have the impression that our agency and others had any trouble getting court dates as soon as the ban was lifted. So I just wonder why you can't get one?
ReplyDeleteExactly! There should be no reason you can't get a court date. I would really begin to question your agency.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone's agency still maintaining the courts aren't closing? (A girl can dream can't she)
ReplyDeleteNew passings?
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of any this week so far (though I'm sure there have been some), but I know there are a ton scheduled for tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWe passed court today. Had our referral in December and first court day in May.
ReplyDeleteWe also passed today! Referral in January, first court date May 8.
ReplyDeleteWe passed court today as well. Referral in January, first court date May 8. Several families from our agency passed today.
ReplyDeleteWe passed too! Our baby was from Enat Alem, org. court date was May 8th.
ReplyDeleteHas everyone got a letter from MOWA after the ban? Or is there some orphanages that still are on hold? EVERY day feels very long day before our court date...
ReplyDeleteNo, there are still families waiting.
ReplyDeleteWe had our second court date after the ban on the 6 of August...the first court date was cancelled when MOWA closed...we did not pass due to missing papers from MOWA. The jugde rescheduled us to the day after...on August 7 and we passed!!!
ReplyDeleteI was told that 22 out of 40 cases, did not pass on August 6, all because of letters not written from MOWA!!!
Good luck to everybody!!!!
Anon 2:22 Gongrats! Did they get immeatedly a new court dates, who didn´t pass? Does someone know, why someone still hasen´t get a letter from MOWA? Is there some reason why someone is having it and someone are not?
ReplyDeletePlease tell if you know?
We passed court on the 5th of August as well and we didn`t have the mowa letter before. Our agency said, that it was no problem to get the letter and all the couples from our agency passed.
ReplyDeleteAnon1:29Thank you...it is such a relief!!! Our agency was given new court dates, immeatedly after we didn't pass.
ReplyDeleteIn our case (our agency) it was randomly who had a MOWA letter. We did not have a MOWA letter and it was not ready when our case was presented to the judge...they had it ready for the day after.
Ask, if I didn't answer your question!!!
Good luck:):)
MOWA writes the letters for each case (and normally, it's my impression, just before the court date) - and sometimes they miss a couple of letters for different reasons, that has nothing to do with the nature of the case. I also heard of the 22 cases the other day, and I certainly hope that the judges will be as friendly and flexible if it happens again, so that people can have new court dates already next day. That was really really nice of them! :)
ReplyDeleteWe passed today!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was our third court date.
We are hoping to hear more good news from Monday.
We have our first court date scheduled for Oct 7th. Not an abandonment case.
ReplyDeleteBrook, Jeff and Tessa; YOu will have to wait long time for your first court date:( Good luck still for you.
