Embassy Dates

Since the court re-opened, there has been talk of some new delays between court date and embassy/travel date. One US agency is saying it will now be 8 weeks from court to embassy, another is telling their clients to expect a 5-6 week wait (which for their agency is about 2 weeks longer than usual).

Similar to our court date list:
Those who have passed court after the October 2009 re-opening of the courts- please post when you passed court, and what your embassy date was or is expected to be. Hopefully we'll be able to get an idea of whether most people can expect a longer wait after court or if recent travel delays are more agency-specific. Thank you!

    Expected Embassy 11/25?
We were informed of a delay in Embassy Appointments. Our agency said that some new procedures were put into effect lengthening the time frame documents were ready, etc.

  2. My court date is 2 Dec, Embassy appointment is 11 Jan. My agency says they have every other Monday appts at the Embassy, and there are several things that need to be prepared between court date and Embassy date, such as translation of the court decree, application for birth certificate, medical appt for the visa, and something else that I can't remember at the moment. So to allow time for all those things to happen, the wait is approx 6 weeks from court to embassy.

  3. I didn't pass after October I actually passed on August 10th. I had an embassy date of 9.23 but was delayed by two weeks due to the new procedures of issuing birth certificates. My agency only has embassy appts every other week. So my embassy date became 10.8.09. Don't know if that helps.

  5. we just got home,

we passed on 10.14 and had an embassy of 11.5 we only got through because we had already purchased tickets. It is my understanding that the embassy *due to downsizing* is now requiring 10 days from the date they are submitted and with the every other week appointments that is the reason for the delay.
